If you are planning on working at heights, it is mandatory for you to have a high risk work card as well as Elevated Work Platform (EWP) training.
All Class Training offers EWP training to ensure you are trained and qualified to work safely and confidently at heights — which is why on the second day of the course, you also have the opportunity to participate in Working Safely at Heights training in Newcastle.
This additional training is offered at a discounted rate, saving you up to $200.
Our Working at Heights training is a nationally accredited unit of competency-based training where participants receive a statement of attainment and a photo card. The photo ID card is only to be used as a reference to the statement of attainment certificate.
Operate Elevating Work Platform covers all scissor lifts and boom lifts up to 11m.

We have a pass rate of more than 99% -- we’re confident you’ll walk away with the skills and qualifications you need to work safely at heights.

At All Class Training, we offer a combination of classroom learning and hands-on, practical experience in our customised training facility. You will have the opportunity to learn how to work safely at heights in-house — real heights, real work. Our instructors will be on-hand to provide support and guidance at all times.
Before the EWP course begins, we will send through course materials for you to read and study. We will also provide example questions that you might find in the final assessment, so you can feel confident walking into the exam.
We have a 99% pass rate among our students — you can rest assured knowing there’s a high chance that you will pass the assessment.
To gain your EWP ticket, the following elements are required:
All high-risk work licences require the applicant to attend an Australia Post outlet within 60 days of successful assessment to lodge their licence application at which time a $86.00 licence fee is payable to SafeWork NSW.
Proof of competency is required to operate scissor lifts and boom lifts under 11m. You also need to meet site requirements which usually means completing training on the machines. The unit of competency RIIHAN301E covers this.
The requirements are site dependent for proof of competency. Some sites may require specific training on a scissor lift to prove competency even if you hold a WP class High Risk Work licence.
Consider booking Operate Elevating Work Platform training with All Class Training to secure this qualification. We offer Operate Elevating Work Platform training discounts if you complete HRW Boom licence training on day two of the course.
If you are not intending to operate the EWP, then you do not require an “operate elevating work platform” unit of competency or licence. However, there still needs to be personnel on-site who can perform emergency retrieval.
Legally no, but some worksites will require you to wear a harness. It is important to note that some scissor lifts and boom lifts aren’t suitable for you to use a fall-arrest system. Before using the EWP, check the user’s manual for your safety, confidence and well-being.
Yes. To ensure you walk away with the skills, knowledge and qualifications to operate an EWP or work at heights, you will need to pass practical and theoretical assessments, including a math assessment. Before the training session/s, we will provide pre-course reading material that includes example questions from the exam.
If you fail the assessment, you will be deemed “Not Yet Competent”. The reassessment will take place at least 48 hours after and no more than 90 after the original assessment. At this time, we recommend studying the course materials!
